The health-care crisis is an ever-growing concern across the country. Costs are escalating, the number of uninsured is growing and there is no consensus on how to improve the system. Pressure on states to address this issue keeps buildling.
In 2007, the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration established the Indiana University Healthcare Reform Faculty Study Group to explore options to reform the state’s healthcare system. The study group convened experts from many disciplines across the University to investigate how to improve healthcare in Indiana. The goal of the study group is to provide the state with comprehensive, data-driven, evidence-based policy recommendations to improve the structure of the healthcare delivery system and expand coverage for Hoosiers.
A full report describing the committee’s recommendations will be released early this summer. More information, including preliminary reports and draft recommendations are available on the CHP Healthcare Reform web site, http://www.healthcarereform.iupui.edu
. The website also offers the opportunity for the public to comment on the reports and ideas being developed by the study group.
