Child Welfare Mental Health Screening Initiative (Evaluation Progress Report No. 17)

The Child Welfare Mental Health Screening Initiative, sponsored by the Department of Child Services, provides an independent evaluation of both the planning and implementation of the initiative to improve the care provided to children in need of mental health services referred to the child welfare system.

Within this report, data for children in placement during the year preceding initiative implementation (benchmark), the six month pilot period, and the first three and one half years of implementation are discussed and analyzed.
